Ways of Seeing/Loving: Photo Tale

on
Picture

love,
a lonely enchanted garden;
i,
sunshine
shimmering on dew-kissed ivy walls.

Picture

love,
a (w)hole in the wall
opening into a parallel life,
where a woman
(who is not a witch)
lives in her own gingerbread house
in the birdsong-filled woods,
dreaming;
necklaces made by her lover
glinting
on her pale neck.
Picture

love,
whose ivy is alive with longing
all over my derelict body.
Picture

love,
a dark room
of light.
Picture

love,
i long for you
(inside my ancient prison house)
staring at love’s light
till my eyes are blind
with despair
and wanderlust.
Picture

love,
but love ain’t always red,
tonight
my love’s
a misty, dreamy blue

Picture

love,
yet i still dream of a new-fangled dawn
rusty at the edges,
ivy shimmering in sunlight.
Picture

love,
didn’t i know, love
love,
a window promising all the magic
it itself
is a barrier to?
